British army bivi – what do customers say?
Customers advice you to check if the British army bivi is made of Goretex or eVent, and also look at the hydrostatic rating – 10,000 or more means you stay dry in all but the worst weather; lower than that and it will probably start to seep through in heavy weather and puddles. Always opt for branded fabrics while buying a bivi, as non-branded ones give poor performance, leaving you feeling wet and sticky at best. If a bivi bag is cheap then it is very likely that it will either be not very waterproof or not very breathable. Look up the reviews to gain further insight.
Ex British Military Bivvi bag, exactly as described, combine this with a British military sleeping bag and you have a bombproof (not literally)
sleeping system, used by the British military all over the world, I’ve used this system for years in conditions down to -35 and never lost sleep.
and at this price you cant go wrong
Only used twice but true to description.
I am 1.65 cm tall and 62 kg and found to have plenty room inside, however will not fit a sleeping mat on the inside (my preferred sleeping arrangment) thought I dont think is meant for it.
Condition was used but very good. The only design flaw, in my opinion, is that the hood closing is done with a shoe lace style string. I will replace with an elsticated draw cord as the lace is miles long and found it annoying when ficks in face if hood closed tight. But it is a very minor point.

well worth the price tag. very low profile, light-ish (1.7kg), compact, warm and breathable and as weatherproof as a heavy duty Gore-Tex jacket. Add a foam role mat, sleeping bag and a bag of marshmallows and your in business man 😉 . there was also room in the bottom for my 40litre backpack.
love it just what I wanted, tired ? stop unroll fall into it ! sleep!!! light weight ground sheet pegged out above it, leaves room to make a cuppa when I wake up
