Merrell Men's Moab 2 Mid GTX hiking Boot, Walnut, 7 W US review
More info about Merrell Men's Moab 2 Mid GTX hiking Boot, Walnut, 7 W US
Fashion is always at the bottom of my priority list, but it’s a bonus when boots for wide feet look good, right. Well, the Merrell Men Moab 2 Mid Gtx is certainly a handsome mid-range boot. The UK sizes range from 7 to 15, with wide boots available up to 13. But is it a good choice for wide feet? Let’s dig in and find out from the bottom up.
Vibram® TC5+ Outsole
The boot underfoot consists of a durable Vibram TC5+ slip-resistant rubber outsole. It has a confident grip and superb traction for most terrains, including rocky and loose surfaces. However, I can only rate the 5 mm soles a good average rather than outstanding on slick wet ground. The midsole is flexible EVA, which adds to the stability and comfort.
Merrell 2’s Mid Gtx Eco-Friendly Upper
The upper materials consist of a sturdy synthetic leather toe box, quarters, and mesh. A breathable GORE TEX lining helps protect your feet from the wet weather elements. And the boot’s mid-cut height provides some welcome ankle support. Another plus is the Bellows gusseted tongue that helps keep unwanted debris out.
Inside the Merrell 2 Mid Gtx
These wide width boots have nicely padded collars, adding to the comfort level. And the insole has a removable perforated footbed with a heel cup and extra cushioning.
For me, the Merrell 2 Mid Gtx UK Wide Fit are the best men’s walking boots for regular hiking. Thanks to the cushioning, lightweight, and ankle support, it’s a super comfortable fit. Best of all is that there’s no break-in period, so you’re good to go right after unboxing.
